IYC, Boys Brigade Mourn Aginighan, Son

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) worldwide has expressed utmost shock over the demise of Elder Power Z. Aginighan, former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Aginighan who was a founding Secretary of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) died in a ghastly auto crash along the Mbaima axis of the East-West road on Friday.

IYC President, Eric Omare said the sudden death of Aginighan and his son is indeed a dark day in the history of Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta region.

“Elder Aginighan was a patriot who was not afraid to speak truth to power especially on issues affecting the Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta region.

“Elder Aginighan’s relentless efforts and sacrifice together with other Ijaw compatriots led to the formation of the Ijaw National Congress wherein he served meritoriously as its pioneer Secretary General.

The Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta region will surely miss Elder Aginghan. He died at the time when the Ijaw nation most needed his wealth of experience on handling issues affecting our people.

The IYC expresses its heartfelt condolence to the Aginighan family of Ogodobiri, the Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta region in general”, the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Boys Brigade family in Delta state, has expressed condolence to his family and the Ijaw nation over the demise.

Pastor Aginighan was a Grand Patron of the Boys Brigade Nigeria, Warri Battalion Council, Delta State.
