The newly posted Divisional Police Officer (DPO) incharged of “B” Division, Warri Area Command, Mr Ebi Orubiri, has vowed to rid the metropolis of all forms of crimes, saying I won’t tolerate criminality and illegality.

Mr Orubiri, a Superintendent of Police, spoke on Thursday shortly after arriving at his new posting, saying he would sustained the fight against criminal activities in Warri metropolis

Orubiri, who was redeployed from B Division, Asaba, also pledged to continue with the developmental project started by his predecessor, Mr Eyoh Anietie, at the division.

Speaking with journalists, he warned criminals of all shades warming up to invade Warri metropolis with their criminal activities to steer clear of the area.

Orubiri, who was Operational Officer at A Division, Warri Area Command before he was redeployed to Asaba, said issues bordering on criminality would be consolidated and further tackled holistically and aggressively at his new posting.

Reading out his riot act, Orubiri said: “I’ll want to strongly advise that I’m not a soft person, I might look so professionally. When it comes to crime and criminality, I’ll fight it headlong.

“I won’t tolerate criminality and illegality and so everybody should do things according to the law.

“I’ve worked as operational officer in Warri. I had visited very volatile areas in the creeks to curtail excesses of insurgencies and crisis.

“If I was able to succeed in that within Warri metropolis, we shall fight crime the way Anietie had fought it and also improve on it.

“My operations and policing will be professional and with a human face. We shall focus on criminal matters and not civil or commercial matters.

“All complaints from the public to us will be addressed the way they should, without compromise,” Mr Orubiri enthused.

He lauded CSP Anietie for the ultramodern police station he had embarked on, saying the project would be completed.

“Mr Anietie has started well as it borders on the infrastructural development of the division.

“It’s a welcome development and we shall improve on it,” he noted.

The new DPO enjoined residents of Warri and environs, whom he averred the police cannot do without, to remain calm, shun vices and sponsored protest for or against the new development as well as share verifiable information with the division.

Mr Orubiri and CSP Anietie resumed duties at their new postings on Thursday.
