The Governorship ambition of Niger Delta activist, Comrade Sunny Ofehe got a boost over the weekend as various political groups have pledged to work for the realisation of his vision for the people of Delta state.

In a statement on Sunday by National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Davies Okinawa, the group said that Ofehe’s endorsement was borne out of his pedigree and antecedents in the Niger Delta region.

“We have decided to embrace the Comrade Sunny Ofehe’s vision and aspirations because he is pragmatic, focus and a goal getter. His activities over the years in the Niger Delta are enough reasons to support him. We have followed his activities over the years and we know he is driven by passion to serve as he has always done.

“As a progressive group on the vanguard of good governance and democracy, we are inspired by the Ofehe’s vision to take Delta State from the shackles of poverty in the face of plenty and place it in the pedestal where we ought to be”.

He said that Ofehe is a household name in Ughelli town and have proven himself as someone to be trusted with the mandate.

“We think you are the best person we can align with. There is no one in Ughelli that doesn’t know Ofehe’s family. We believe it is better we work with the person we know than those we don’t have alliance with. I make bold to say we are behind you, day and night”.

In his response, Comrade Ofehe said he was not in the race because he has so much money to throw around or influence but was driven by passion to add value to the state.

“I’m going to be because we are and you are going to be because I am so together we can fix Delta state. I may not have the kind of money the money bags who have corrupted the political system have but what I have, they don’t have and I can assure you I will never disappoint you”.
