Restructuring Remains Solution To Our Teething Problems, Says Gbaramatu Monarch

Paramount traditional ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State, HRM Oboro-Gbaruan II, Aketekpe, Agadagba has said that restructuring remains the solution to the various teething problems confronting the nation.

The monarch who stated this on Tuesday in Oporaza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in a key note address to mark his 2nd year coronation anniversary, threw his weight behind the quest for restructuring of the country before the 2019 general election remains.

According to him, restructuring would also mean the implementation of the 16-point demand made by the group, Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) on behalf of the region, part of which would enable each geopolitical zone to harness their resources.

Besides, the monarch however urged the federal government to maintained the relative peace in the Niger Delta region by doing the needful and also ensure the take off of the multi million dollar Export Professing Zone (EPZ) Deep Sea Port, Gbaramatu and Gas City Project in Ogigigben.

The royal father who used the occasion to confer chieftaincy title on deserving sons and daughters of the Kingdom, however thanked the federal government for the takeoff of Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, expressing delight that modular refinery project was also on the pipeline.

He announced that the Kingdom was in the process of establishing a community radio station as well as linking all coastal communities in the Kingdom to the national electrical power grid or alternative power production venture.

In a vote of thanks at the elaborate grand finale of the coronation anniversary which was witness by hundreds of dignitaries, Chief Godspower Gbenekama who was elevated as Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom said that the monarch’s achievement within two years of his coronation are too numerous to mention.

Gbenekama, formerly known as Ibe-Benemowei, said that the celebration of the Amaseikumor and two other festivals to mark the coronation anniversary which started on 21st March was significant to the relative peace in the Gbaramatu axis of the Niger Delta region.
