IGP’s Crack Police Detective Who Engaged Captors Of Briton Dies After Surgery In Delta

One of the detectives of Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team, Sergeant Sanusi Lanre who engaged suspected kidnappers that killed the British volunteer, Ian Squire has been confirmed dead after he undergone a surgery in Oghara, Delta State.

BigPen Online recalls that the IGP team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari had engaged kidnappers in shootout and in the process killed one and arrested two others in Warri late Wednesday.

However, one of the two sergeants, Sergeant Sanusi Lanre, who was shot in the abdomen reportedly died on Friday.

He was reported to be recuperating after he was operated upon at about 3:00a.m on Thursday and was said to have received four pints of blood.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Aniamaka confirmed the development when on Friday when contacted, saying the other officer, Sergeant Agunbiade Adebayo, who was shot in his two hands, is recuperating.
