2019: Gbaramatu APC, Leaders Throw Weigh Behind Johnny For Senate

The leaders and membership of All Progressives Congress APC in Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri South West local government, Delta State, have unanimously endorsed Chief Michael Johnny to become the next Senator to represent Delta South senatorial district come 2019.

This was made known weekend when Johnny and campaign team visited his home town, Okerenkoko community, Gbaramatu kingdom, where he was given an heroic welcome by leaders and residents of Okerenkoko community and also intimated the leaders, elders and people of the community of his intention to contest for Senate in 2019.

Meanwhile, prominent Gbaramatu and Niger Delta leader, Hon. George Timinimi, who spoke at the event enjoined the people of Gbaramatu to continue to have confidence in the APC government which has brought liberation to Gbaramatu kingdom.

Johnny, former Chairman of Egbema Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation EGCDF, said, ” the PDP government failed in Gbaramatu and the entire Niger Delta region, I am glad to inform you that President Muhammadu Buhari’s genuine commitment to the development of Niger Delta region, motivated my decision to represent Delta South Senatorial district at the Senate in 2019 to compliment Buhari’s efforts and bring purposeful leadership to Gbaramatu kingdom”.

He said the recent approval by the Buhari’s led federal government to revamp Warri Port, is commendable and promised that if elected would ensure the revitalization of Burutu and Koko ports including all federal government owned moribund industries in Delta South to create massive employment for the graduate and youths in the senatorial district.

He said, ” the underdevelopment of our communities gives me great concern, I understands the challenges facing our people, my priority is to give practical representation by attracting infrastructural development, ensure sustainable peace, security and provision of quality education for the underprivileged children in Delta South. I will also ensure a peaceful coexistence among the tribes in Delta South, adequately make provision for our elderly, leaders and elaborate empowerment programmes for the youths and women”.

Johnny, former member of Delta State Waterways Security and Anti-Kidnapping also promised to work with the APC government to attract infrastructural development, federal employment and appointments to the people of Delta South and urged them, particularly the Ijaw in Delta State to continue to support the APC and President Buhari’s government.
