…Congratulates Fayemi

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has described APC’s victory in the governorship election in Ekiti state three weeks after its National Convention as a huge vote of confidence on the party and the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Oshiomhole stated this on Sunday in a congratulatory message to the governor-elect of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi whom he advised not to scheme out his political opponents in the running of the state.

He urged Fayemi to run an all inclusive government and resist the temptation of vengeance while channeling his energy to rebuilding the state.

The statement read in full: “I congratulate the governor Elect of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi on his historic victory at the Saturday July 14, 2018 governorship election. This victory is not only for our great party the All Progressives Congress (APC), but for the good people of Ekiti state and Nigerians at large.

“It is now time for the governor elect, Dr Fayemi to focus on the huge challenges ahead. We have no doubt in his ability to get tested and trusted hands who will work along with Ekiti people in the onerous task of repositioning the state.

“This victory which is coming three weeks after our National Convention is a huge vote of confidence on our party and the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I congratulate Ekiti people for formally closing the remnants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West despite the intimidation, harassment they suffered in the hands of the out-going PDP government prior to the elections.

“As a party, we urge Dr Fayemi to concentrate in earnest in the task of rebuilding the state after four years of PDP wreckage.

“In moments like this, he must resist the temptation of vengeance and channel his energy to rebuilding the state.

“You must also work hard to reunite the party and take deliberate steps to ensure that the interest of all stake holders are reflected in the governance of the state.

“I call on other political parties in Ekiti state to join hands in moving the state forward and to continue to support our great party, the APC in ensuring that Nigeria becomes a country that all of us will continue to be proud of.

“I have no doubt you will have a successful reign in office and may the Almighty God give you the wisdom to lead and provide good governance to the good people of Ekiti state”.
