‎Ogun State Targets 95% Votes for Tinubu in 2027, Cites Economic Reforms

‎Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has pledged to deliver 95 percent of the state’s votes to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, signaling strong support for the President’s re-election bid.

‎Abiodun made the declaration on Friday at the Presidential Lodge in Ibara, Ogun State, where he commended Tinubu’s administration for implementing key economic reforms aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy.

‎The governor specifically praised the removal of fuel subsidy and the liberalization of the foreign exchange market, describing the measures as bold and necessary steps toward long-term economic stability and growth.

‎President Tinubu secured approximately 53 percent of the votes cast in Ogun State during the 2023 presidential election. However, Abiodun’s ambitious target of 95 percent has generated mixed reactions among residents and political observers.

‎Supporters of the governor’s pledge view it as a demonstration of unity and loyalty within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly in the Southwest, a region widely regarded as a stronghold of the party.

‎He further said that achieving such a margin may prove difficult amid ongoing concerns over economic hardship, deteriorating infrastructure, rising insecurity, and the high cost of living affecting many Nigerians.
