How Adelabu’s Abducted Sister, Twin Sons Were Rescued After Three-Day Ordeal in Kidnappers’ Den ‎

Fresh details have emerged how the Nigeria Police Force successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, who were abducted in Ibadan, Oyo State, on June 3, 2026.

According to Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the victims regained their freedom on Saturday evening following a coordinated operation by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT).

The rescue mission, the statement read was carried out at about 7:30 p.m., three days after the mother and her children were kidnapped while on their way to school.

Placid disclosed that the breakthrough was achieved through intensive intelligence gathering, surveillance, and strategic tactical operations.

He said that investigators were able to trace the movements of the kidnappers, leading to a confrontation between the suspects and security operatives.

“During the operation, two suspected members of the kidnapping gang were fatally wounded, while security personnel recovered two rifles from the scene”, the Force spokesman said.

The rescued victims were unharmed and have since been placed under medical observation and receiving necessary support, he added.

Placid said the Inspector-General of Police praised the professionalism, bravery, and dedication displayed by the FID-IRT operatives and other officers involved in the operation.

He noted that their commitment and resilience were critical to the successful rescue of the hostages.

Meanwhile, security agencies have intensified efforts to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate who escaped during the operation.

Preliminary intelligence reports suggest that some of the fleeing suspects may have sustained gunshot wounds, the police said.

According to the police image-maker ongoing operations are focused on tracking down all individuals connected to the abduction and ensuring they face justice.

Force Headquarters also expressed appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation, support, and patience throughout the rescue effort.

‎Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Nigeria Police Force pledged to continue strengthening efforts against kidnapping and other violent crimes while working to safeguard lives and property across the country.
