The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area in Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba, has said that he is not a “billboard council chairman.”

He maintained that his administration is committed to people-oriented development, focusing on visible and impactful projects.

Ogorugba asserted that, instead of publicizing through billboards across the local government, his administration has achieved what ‘Napoleon Bonaparte’ could not since the creation of the Isoko North council area.

He spoke while hosting the people of Otor Igho Ward at an end-of-year gathering held at his Otor Igho residence.

He disclosed that, funds allocated to the council are meant solely for the development of Isoko North and must be used judiciously for the benefit of the people, emphasising that governance is about service, accountability, and tangible results that citizens can see and feel.

“The essence of governance is service to the people. The allocation we receive from the Federal Account is on behalf of the Isoko North people, and it must be deployed responsibly to develop our communities. I am not a chairman of billboards.

“I am committed to projects that speak for themselves and positively impact the lives of our people. I want to assure the people of Isoko North that I will never betray the trust reposed in me and leadership should be measured by executed projects rather than the numbers of billboards erected.

“I will not allow the people of Isoko North to regret why they elected me, nor will I give the Governor any reason to regret his confidence in me. Our people now understand that it is not the number of billboards you mount, but the quality of projects you execute that truly matters.

“I harbours no personal political ambition ahead of 2027, but my focus remains on supporting the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and my boss, the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.”

Ogorugba expressed deep appreciation to his wife and children for their unwavering support, as well as to leaders who have played significant roles in his political journey, including governor Oborevwori, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Leo Ogor, Ovouzourie Macaulay, and Late YD Igbrude, emphasising that his respect for the above mentioned personalities remains intact, whether in or out of office.

The Chairman also revealed that he has reconciled with party members he previously disagreed with during his tenure as party chairman, explaining that his actions at the time were guided by party discipline and collective decisions rather than personal interests.

He thanked God for his protection throughout 2025 and offered prayers for a more prosperous and peaceful 2026 for the people of Isoko North.

Meanwhile, in another development, chairman of Isoko North council area, Godwin Ogorugba has attributed his vision towards the development and advancement of Isoko North in line with the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda, of President Bola Tinubu and Governor of Delta State, Sherriff Oborewvori.
