Warri Rebirth Initiative Sues for Peace in Warri

The group, Warri Rebirth Initiative has called on parties involved in the recent misunderstanding in some parts of Warri to sheath their swords and continue to live in peace.

The initiative urged the conflicting parties to focus on their socio economic development and well being, and rise above distractions capable of derailing the peaceful co existence in the area.

A statement by its chairman Kes Agbosa, Publicity Secretary, Patrick Origho and Secretary, Linus Chima, appealed to all to pursue a legacy of understanding and dialogue in the resolution of conflicts.

The group said Warri must not go back to the days of sorrow and destruction which robbed the city of peace and at a time sowed the seeds of distrust,the negative effects of which we are yet to fully recover.

The statement expressed sadness over the resurgence of violence and called on the parties to remember, honour and respect their beautiful historic past which made Warri the best place to be.

Specifically, its chairman, Agbosa, said that the group is doing its best to restore confidence among the people, noting that it has made tremendous progress in fostering unity and understanding among the people.

The group called for dialogue and commended the state government for taking steps to restore normalcy to the area.
