Isoko North: Ogorugba Launches Free Medical Outreach In Fulfillment Of Campaign Promises

Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, Godwin Ogorugba, has officially launched a free medical check-up and treatment program for the people of Otor-Igho Community in the local government in fulfillment of his electioneering promises.

The program which was tagged the “Hon. Godwin Ogorugba Medical Outreach” was launched on Wednesday as part of the chairman’s promises to provide essential healthcare services to residents of the community.

The council boss, while emphasizing the importance of the program, noted that given the prevalence of various diseases, it was crucial for the government to implement such a health scheme which included, free medical consultations, screening for hypertension and diabetes, malnutrition screening for children, tuberculosis (TB) and HIV screening and counseling, malaria testing, distribution of free medications and mosquito nets, deworming, cholera awareness and sensitization as well as mothercraft activities

Ogorugba however expressed gratitude to the state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the governor’s MORE Agenda at the grassroots level.

The chairman also appreciated the state commissioner for Health, Joseph Onajeme, for his support and assured the people of Otor-Igho that his administration would continue to prioritize their well-being.

“We recognize that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, yet many struggle to obtain it. This is why we have taken the initiative to bring healthcare services directly to your doorstep,” he stated.

Present during the event were the chairman’s wife and first lady of the council, Deaconess Veronica Ogorugba, Leader of the Isoko North legislative Arm, Pascal Emelauha, Head of Personnel Management, (HPM), Mrs. Irene Onwondi, Supervisor for Health, Anthony Odhibi, Supervisor for Works, Egwu Oghenero Alakpodia, Supervisor for Agriculture and Community Development, Thomas Akpoedafe, Supervisor for Environment, Alebe Joshua; SA Oloku Erero, heads of various departments, and among other aides.
