Delta State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, John Vandi Kwaghe, has paid a ‘thank you visit’ to the chairman of Isoko South local government area following his show of love and fatherly disposition to serving corps members in the council area.

The state NYSC coordinator, during the courtesy visit to the chairman in his office in Oleh, headquarters of the council, applauded the chairman, Mr. Friday Ovoke Warri for his “vibrant, intelligent and people oriented developmental strides and leadership” in the council qrea.

Kwaghe, thanked the council boss for the warm reception and praised him for making himself available for the visit despite the short notice, adding that outside Aniocha North local government area, which played host to the Delta State NYSC permanent orientation camp, Isoko South is the second area he was visiting officially since he was transferred to Delta state a few months ago.

He appreciated the chairman, saying the positive feedback he had received about the chairman’s vibrant and intelligent leadership prompted him for the visit and to also thank him for the hospitality extended to serving corps members in the area.

“I am here to appreciate the chairman for his swift donations of materials to NYSC members in Isoko South. We are grateful for making their short stay remarkable. You’ve showered a father figure on them; it’s not about NYSC alone but about making them feel at home. NYSc is a household name. I am glad the chairman is taking them as his own despite the fact that the majority of them came from various tribes and parts of the country.

“I am also here to appeal to you to continue to do more by providing basic amenities to them to make their stay more comfortable. And also make provision for them to learn other social activities like cultural festivals and among others.”, he stated.

In his remarks, chairman of Isoko South, Friday Ovoke Warri thanked the state coordinator of the NYSC and his team for the visit saying “We are partners in progress, we will do everything in our power to care for the corps members posted to Isoko South. I must commend you for posting a special member to us, a medical doctor but as Oliver Twist, we ask for more. We expect more of such professional corps members in our local government,” he added.

Warri, used the occasion to thank one of the corps members who carried out a community development service (CDS) at St. Michael’s College, Oleh, for providing a hand pump borehole water system and volleyball court at the school premises, stressing that if he has the powers, he would not allow the corps member to leave but engage him with immediate employment and assured the coordinator of Isoko South support at all times.
