Billionaire Oil Tycoon Ogbechie To Chair Maris Lecture 2023

The 2023 Maris Annual Public Service Lecture, which is scheduled to take place in less than two weeks, will be chaired by renowned business billionaire Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie.

Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, secretary of the Maris Trust Council, MTC, which organizes the annual lecture series, announced on Friday in Asaba, Delta State, that this year’s edition will bring together the most prominent members of society to discuss ways to address societal problems.

According to him, “we are very excited that Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie, OON, Group Managing Director, Rainoil Limited, will be Chairman at this year’s edition of Maris Annual Public Service Lecture series.

“Dr. Ogbechie, is a prominent Deltan who is contributing to the global economy, and because charity begins at home, Dr. Ogbechie’s footprint dots across the length and breadth of Delta State, he is a man loved by the people.

“Dr. Ogbechie, OON, was carefully chosen to chair this year’s lecture because of the key words in the title of the lecture, ‘Infrastructure and Democracies;” Across the country and beyond, you will find infrastructures provided through the efforts of Dr Ogbechie.

“For this year’s lecture, a successful private and public sector operator, Chief Sir Okenmor Fidelis Tilije, Commissioner for Finance, Delta State, will deliver the lecture titled “Provision of Infrastructure As a Catalyst For Growth Of Democratic Governments;”. By the grace of God, the lecture will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba at 12 noon.

“Last year, Ambassador Godson Echegile was the Chairman of the Occasion and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas set an agenda for humanity with the lecture titled, “Selfless Service, A Phenomenal Virtue.” Rt. Hon. Agas was the guest lecturer at that lecture.

“Also, the Deputy Governor-elect of Delta State, Chief Sir Monday Onyeme, delivered the 2021 edition of the lecture where he spoke on the topic, “Effective Tax Administration For The Delivery Of Democratic Dividends.”

“We thank God for the journey of contributing positively to the growth of the society using Maris’ annual lecture as aplatform,m and we thank God for using Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State to provide the enabling environment for such international discourse to take place annually.

“Governor Okowa, who has always attended the lecture as a Special Guest of Honour, magnanimously provided the Unity Hall, Government House for use, and with his strong belief in an egalitarian society,  he has assisted us in several ways for the lecture to be a success story.

“Maris Lecture is free for well-meaning individuals of the society who wish to contribute positively to the growth of the society.
