The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has declared Tuesday and Wednesday next week as days of mourning in honour of late Timi Ebikagboro.

The union directed that all journalists in the state should wear black cloths between Tuesday 3rd-4th October, 2017 to honour the late sport presenter.

Meanwhile, the union has expressed deep pain over the death, saying that the demise was a colossal loss and truly unfortunate.

The statement read in part:

Timi Ebikagboro was a great Unionist who demonstrated excellent sense of loyalty in good and bad times. His active participation in the Union’s activities and promoting the ideals of the journalism profession will forever remain fresh in our memory.

He was a fine and dependable journalist who carved a niche for himself in uplifting journalism practice and sacrificed so much for the profession even at the expense of his convenience and resources. Indeed, Timi Ebikagboro’s glowing attributes are virtues that call for emulation by all journalist.
