“I Don’t Want To Join Issue With Anyone” – Uduaghan On Delta APC Crisis

Published

on

Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, immediate past governor of Delta State and leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), says he is not interested in joining issue with anyone based on hearsay in the crisis rocking the party in the state.

Uduaghan spoke on Tuesday following seething attack on his person in a press statement credited to the chairman of the state chapter of the party, Prophet Jones Erue.

But Erue has since denied issuing the statement, according to Uduaghan.

Monoyo Edon, media assistant to Dr. Uduaghan, in a statement on Tuesday, though didn’t mention the ‘vexed issue’, said that the party chairman attempted to sneer the reputation of the former Governor.

He, however adviced every member of the party to refrain from making unguarded comments that could further aggravate the simmering squabbles in the party.

The statement read: “The attention of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, the Immediate Past Governor of Delta State and Chieftain of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) has been drawn to a widely circulating statement credited to Prophet Jones Ode-Erue, State Chairman of the APC where he attempted to sneer the reputation of the former Governor.

“It is undesirably embarrassing what is happening in the state chapter of the party but as a leader, Dr. www is disinterested in joining issues with anyone based on hearsay especially as Prophet Jones has already disowned the said statement.

“Dr. Uduaghan and other leaders of the party are doing everything within their might to restore calm in the Chapter. He advises every member of the party to refrain from making unguarded comments that could further aggravate the simmering squabbles in Delta APC”.

BIGPEN reports that crisis had erupted in the party between Ogboru and Omo-Agege camp over some unsettled discrepancies arising from last year general election.

Uduaghan’s advice came barely few days after Erue was quoted to have accused Chief Great Ogboru, the 2019 governorship candidate of the party of alleged embezzlement of N2 billion election funds.
