Court Jails Two Bankers, Indian Businessman Five Years Each For N855m Fraud

A State High Court sitting in Igbosere, Lagos State on Monday, December 9, 2019, sentenced two top official of Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank), Anayo Nwosu and Olajide Oshodi for alleged N855m fraud.

Also jailed alongside the duo is Ashok Israni, an Indian businessman.

The trio were committed to prison for five years each by Justice Kudirat Jose of the state High Court.

Also jailed are NULEC Industries Limited belonging to Israni and Keystone Bank Limited.

Their conviction followed fraud charges brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The convicts alongside one Sunny Obazee were re-arraigned on October 4, 2016 on an amended 15-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N855m.
