Security: Hausas In Delta Community Demand ID Card

The Hausas residing in Ibuzor, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, have requested for identity cards as part of their own security measures of wading of infiltrators.

This was part of the resolutions reached between the Hausa community and the people of Ibuzor at a meeting held on Tuesday at Ibuzor.

Present at the meeting which was convened by Ibusa Youths Association (IYA) led by Comrade Alfred Isoh were the leadership of Hausa community in the area, Ibuzor Community Policing (ICP), Commandant, Anti-Cult, Umuehea Youths, Chief Gilbert Okonji, among others.

They all frowned at the perpetuation of crime in whatever guise, stating that it was important for all the residence of the community to live in harmony without fear about security issues.

In a statement issued after the meeting, Comrade Isoh said, “we had a very successful meeting with the Hausas living in our community and they requested for identify cards for easy identification in case of any necessary assistance; we will be having periodic meetings and assist in identifying the hoodlums in disguise to avoid any unnecessary clash with the Hausa community.

“We are taking proactive steps for us not to experience the security situation being witnessed in some places because, Ibuzor is a peaceful, progressive community,” Comrade Isoh said.

“Our interest is to have a peaceful community where there is respect for the rule of law; we are set to meet with the Fulani community too as the Youths Council will be visiting the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), ICP, Anti cult and okada rider’s chairman to see how we can beaf up security in the community especially in our schools, markets, our palace and other areas.
