Jonathan, Uduaghan Meet In Warri; ‘Talk’ On His 2019 Ambition

Immediate past governor of Delta state, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan on Saturday met former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan in Warri, Delta state.

They met at First Baptist Church, Warri, during the nuptials between Dr. Oroghene Oghenejobo (FENOG’s daughter) and Mr. Oluwafemi Ologun.

BigPen Online learnt that their meeting ‘may’ rekindled old memories of how Jonathan railroaded him to drop his senate ambition for James Manager in 2015.

Reports say an intense power play, threats intrigues orchestrated by Jonathan’s men, Tompolo and Manager had forced Uduaghan to abandon his senatorial ambition after a botched horse trading visit to Aso Rock by Uduaghan and Manager.

Uduaghan, however early this year, dismissed all reports insinuating he was forced to drop his 2015 ambition. He told Ijaw kinsmen of Manager under the Coalition of Bomadi Local Government Area Elders and Youths who visited him at his residence that he drop his senatorial ambition in 2015 to accommodate the interests of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Delta state.

“The stability of the state was very important to me. I needed to concentrate on the state and prepare it for a peaceful transition; otherwise, I have all the machinery to win the seat if I had so wanted it like I do now.”, Uduaghan said.

It was not clear if Jonathan and Uduaghan had any tete-a-tete about his 2019 senatorial ambition but pictures showed both leaders had discussions in hush tones after a firm handshake.

Uduaghan would later described Jonathan, the ex-president whose new launched book,  “My Transition Hours” is currently generating controversy as his “brother”.

“I attended the nuptials of Dr. Oroghene Oghenejobo and her sweetheart Mr. Oluwafemi Ologun, alongside my brother and Immediate Past President of Nigeria -H.E Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan at the First Baptist Church, Mission Road, Warri”, Uduaghan wrote in his facebook page.
