Former Delta State Governor Chief James Ibori has assured President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of massive support from the people of Oghara and Ethiope West in the 2027 general elections.

Ibori gave the assurance on Friday at the inauguration of the Model Technical College, Oghareki, in Ethiope West Local Government Area, where he commended Oborevwori for his impressive development strides across the state, particularly in Urhobo land.

“We have prayed for grace and wisdom to pilot the affairs of our great state. We assure you of our massive support for Tinubu, Oborevwori and others in 2027,” Ibori said.

He acknowledged former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for initiating the technical college project and praised Oborevwori for completing it.

Governor Oborevwori, while inaugurating the college, used the occasion to order an immediate overhaul of all dilapidated public primary and secondary schools across Delta State.

“I have directed that all schools in Delta State that are in deplorable condition, whether primary or secondary, should be assessed for immediate rehabilitation,” Oborevwori said.

He said he had directed the Ministries of Primary and Secondary Education to begin scoping without delay, noting that maintaining over 1,400 primary schools and 480 secondary schools in the state requires sustained investment.

Oborevwori said the Model Technical College, Oghareki, with state-of-the-art workshops, staff and student accommodation and sports facilities, demonstrates his administration’s commitment to equipping young people with practical skills for employability and self-reliance.

He disclosed that three more model technical colleges at Irri in Isoko South, Kiagbodo in Burutu and Akugbene in Bomadi will be completed and inaugurated before December 2026.

The governor announced a N50 million education support for Miss Ogheneovo Davina, a Junior Technical II student who addressed him extempore on behalf of students.

The student had said she would have voted for Oborevwori in 2027 if she was 18.

The member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, commended the quality of the project and said the large turnout at the inauguration would translate into electoral support for the governor in 2027.

Earlier, Chairman of Ethiope West Council, Hon. Christian Onogba, described the inauguration as a landmark achievement and said Oborevwori’s political realignment from PDP to APC has fostered unity across Delta State.
