‎Sex Plays Major Role in a Woman’s Glow, Says Iyabo Ojo as She Reflects on Love, Divorce

Veteran Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has attributed her youthful appearance to happiness and a fulfilling intimate relationship, saying a healthy sex life contributes significantly to a woman’s glow.

‎The 48-year-old actress made the remarks during an appearance on The Morayo Show, hosted by broadcast journalist Morayo Afolabi-Brown, where she spoke about relationships, marriage, and her personal journey.

‎According to Ojo, a woman’s happiness is not determined by whether she is married or single, but by the quality of the relationship she is in.

‎”I think it’s about the person that you’re with. Sex has a lot to do with a woman’s glow. I’m getting more than enough. Maybe those with marriage certificates aren’t getting enough,” she said.

‎Speaking about her relationship with talent manager Paul Okoye, popularly known as Paul O, the actress described it as one built on mutual respect, understanding and support.

‎She acknowledged that, like every relationship, they experience disagreements but have learned to respect each other’s space and demanding careers.

‎”We’re two mature people and two very busy people. The most important thing is to understand each other, support each other and respect each other’s space. We have our ups and downs, but we move on,” she said.

‎Ojo, who publicly confirmed her relationship with Paul O in 2022, also reflected on her failed marriage to Ademidun Ojo, revealing that she believed the union should have ended much earlier.

‎She married Ademidun Ojo in 1999 at the age of 21, and the marriage produced two children, Festus Ojo and Priscilla Ojo, before the couple separated in 2001.

‎The former couple reunited publicly during Priscilla’s wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux in April 2025, drawing public attention after Ademidun Ojo was absent from the earlier Islamic wedding ceremony in Tanzania.

‎Reflecting on the marriage, the actress said she took time before deciding to walk away but now believes leaving was the right decision.

‎”The marriage should have ended long before; it should have ended on my wedding night. Looking back, I’m glad I didn’t stay because if I had, my children probably wouldn’t be where they are today,” she said.

‎Ojo explained that her decision was motivated by the wellbeing of her children and the need to preserve her mental health, adding that she intends to share more details of her life story in an upcoming book and a new cinema project inspired by her personal experiences.
