‎VDM Accuses APC of Using EFCC to Muzzle Dissent ‎

Published

Controversial social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate him and activist-lawyer Deji Adeyanju over their criticism of the Federal Government.

‎VDM made the claim in a statement shared on social media, alleging that the petition was prompted by their vocal opposition to what they described as poor governance and the government’s failure to address insecurity and protect citizens.

‎According to him, the petitioners questioned the source of funding behind recent protests and advocacy campaigns, arguing that the level of organization and public participation suggested external sponsorship.

‎VDM further alleged that the petition implied that their activities were aimed at destabilizing the government, a claim he rejected.

‎He identified the petitioner as Blessing Agbomhere, an APC member and lawyer from Edo State.

‎Neither the APC, Agbomhere, nor the EFCC had officially responded to the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
