The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, has lauded the Edo/Delta Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for its impressive financial performance, notably surpassing its 2025 revenue target.

The commendation was given by the Chairman of the Warri Chapel, Chief Akpokona Omafuaire Esq., during a courtesy visit by the union’s newly elected executive members to the Command’s headquarters at the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), Warri, Delta state, on Thursday.

Highlighting the Command’s fiscal milestone, Omafuaire revealed that the Edo/Delta Customs Command generated an impressive ₦125.13 billion between January and December 2025.

“Exceeding the N125.13 billion threshold proves that the leadership and staff of the Edo/Delta Command are performing exceptionally well,” Omafuaire stated, adding that the Customs Service remains a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic growth due to its vital role in revenue generation.

Responding, the Customs Area Controller for the Edo/Delta Command, Comptroller Judith Kanu, warmly received the media delegation alongside her management team, which included several Deputy and Assistant Comptrollers.

Comptroller Kanu reiterated the Command’s willingness to build a robust working relationship with the Warri NUJ, describing the press as an indispensable ally in nation-building.
