The Delta State Chapter of PETOOP (Peter Obi Our President), a prominent political movement in the state, has congratulated Deacon Chris Iyovwaye as the consensus gubernatorial candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

A congratulatory statement signed by Coordinator of PETOOP Delta State Chapter, Mr. Shola Friday Kunili, on Thursday, said the group has formally declared its total support for Iyovwaye, promising to deploy its extensive grassroots network to ensure his victory at the polls.

The development came as a major political boost to Iyovwaye’s candidacy as the race for the Delta State Government House heats up.

Mr. Kunili described Iyovwaye’s emergence as a “remarkable achievement” and a direct testament to his competence, visionary leadership, and widespread acceptability among party stakeholders and the people of Delta State.

“We celebrate this milestone with you and consider it a significant step toward the emergence of a new era of purposeful and people-oriented governance in our dear state,” the statement read.

Aligning Iyovwaye’s vision with the political philosophy of their principal, Peter Obi, the NDC Presidential candidate, the group emphasized that the NDC candidate embodies the core values of integrity, accountability, and a deep commitment to human welfare.

According to PETOOP, Iyovwaye possesses the unique grassroots appeal needed to unite the diverse interests within Delta State.

To transform this endorsement into electoral victory, PETOOP announced that it is immediately activating its robust political structures across the state.

He said the movement boasts an established network spanning from the State Executives down to all Local Government Areas (LGAs), political wards, and individual polling units.

“This robust grassroots network remains fully mobilized and committed to working tirelessly toward your victory at the polls,” Kunili assured the candidate, adding that the group’s support would extend through the campaign period, the elections, and into his future administration.

“We are confident that, with the collective determination of our members, the support of the people of Delta State, and your inspiring leadership, victory is assured.

“As you embark on this historic journey, we pray for divine wisdom, strength, protection, and success”, the statement read.
