Immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, has described Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s performance in office as exceptional, saying he has surpassed public expectations and justified the confidence reposed in him by Deltans.

While congratulating Governor Oborevwori on his third year anniversary in office, Ikeogwu said the administration’s achievements across infrastructure, security, empowerment and social welfare have earned the governor widespread support across the state.

According to him, the level of acceptance and goodwill currently enjoyed by Oborevwori is unprecedented in Delta State’s political history.

“My principal has performed beyond expectations. The level of support he is enjoying today is a clear indication that Deltans appreciate what he is doing. We have never seen this kind of overwhelming acceptance in recent times because people can see the impact of governance around them,” he said.

Ikeogwu who doublee as Senior Special Assistant on media to the Governor, noted that despite the harsh economic realities facing Nigerians, the governor has continued to implement programmes designed to ease the burden on citizens and improve their standard of living.

“Hunger and economic hardship are not peculiar to Delta State alone. These are challenges being experienced across Nigeria and even in many countries around the world.

“What is important is how government responds, and Governor Oborevwori has shown understanding by introducing programmes that are touching lives and creating opportunities for the people,” he stated.

The media executive said one of the administration’s major achievements has been its commitment to maintaining peace and security through collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders and security agencies.

“In terms of security, the governor has done remarkably well. He maintains close relationships with traditional rulers, community leaders and security agencies.

He gives them the support they need, and that is one of the reasons Delta remains relatively peaceful and secure compared to many states in the country,” Ikeogwu said.

He added that the visible presence of government projects across the state has become the administration’s strongest advertisement.

“There is hardly any community you visit today without seeing one project or another. Whether it is road construction, drainage projects, schools, healthcare facilities or empowerment programmes, the impact is there for everyone to see.

“The governor has done so much that the projects themselves have become his campaign. The people who live in those communities can testify to the difference these projects are making in their lives.”

Ikeogwu said the administration’s development efforts have continued unabated despite political developments within the state, stressing that Governor Oborevwori remains focused on governance rather than political distractions.

According to him, the governor’s achievements over the last three years represent only a fraction of what he intends to accomplish if given another opportunity to serve.

“What we have seen in the last three years is just the tip of the iceberg. I am convinced that if given a second term, Governor Oborevwori will consolidate on these achievements and deliver even more projects that will directly benefit Deltans across all parts of the state.”

He called on residents to celebrate the governor’s third anniversary and continue supporting his administration to ensure the completion of ongoing projects and the execution of new developmental initiatives.

“My message to Deltans is simple: celebrate with the governor and continue to support him. The progress we are seeing today is the result of focused leadership and commitment to service. Together, we can build on these gains and take Delta State to even greater heights.”

Addressing concerns in some quarters about government publicity, Ikeogwu maintained that information about the administration’s activities is being communicated regularly through various media platforms.

“Every leader has a unique style of governance and communication. What is important is that the work is being done. Reports of government programmes, projects and achievements are being released consistently, and as more projects are completed, the people will continue to see evidence of the governor’s commitment to development.”

As Governor Oborevwori celebrates three years in office, Ikeogwu expressed confidence that the administration would continue to strengthen infrastructure, improve security, create economic opportunities and advance the overall development of Delta State.

He prayed for wisdom, good health and divine guidance for the governor as he continues to lead the state and implement his MORE Agenda for the benefit of all Deltans.
