The Delta State Chapter of the PDP has commended the Supreme Court for affirming the judgement of the Court of Appeal that nullified the Ibandon Convention held by a faction.

State Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Kingsley Akpos Oturubo,in a statement, on Thursday, hailed the apex court ruling as a well considered judgement that has demonstrated that court of public opinion cannot override the rule of law.

The party held that the apex court decision has finally settled the lingering PDP leadership crisis.

“It is now time to reposition our Party. Fellow Deltans, PDP is alive, stronger and better than ever before. We are ready to reclaim our mandates through the ballots come 2027”, the statement added.

PDP expressed confidence that Deltans have faith in the Party and therefore appealed to the people of Delta State to renew the social contract once again with the party.

“PDP is the only Party that has provided true democracy to the people”, the statement claimed.

Outlining some of the achievements of the PDP, the statement maintained, “under our governments, democracy thrives and the people reaped the dividends of democracy.

“PDP is ready once again to provide good governance to the now beleaguered Deltans. Of course, we have never disappointed the electorates. 2027 will not going to be different. With your support, we shall win the race and return the loss glory back to the people.

“As for our members on the other divide, we’re going to be magnanimous in victory. We plead with you to join us for the journey ahead. PDP remains your home and your interest will surely be secured.

“This Party being the only truly democratic platform in the Country will not treat her members like political orphans. We therefore call on our members to join us immediately while the time is ticking for us to rebuild the Party going forward and to recover all our mandates come 2027.

“The Delta State Chapter of the PDP heartily congratulate the members of the National Working Committee led by Abdulrahman Mohammed and the National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu.

“Your victory is a clear testimony that those who operate on the side of the law will surely win the race no matter the challenges. This victory reinforces Nigerians faith in our dear Party. We commend your resilience and dedication to the Party at the test of time for us to achieve this victory”, the statement added.
