Isoko South Chairman Tasks Provost of DELSU, Oleh Campus on Institution’s Development

The chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri, has tasked the provost of the Delta State University, DELSU, Oleh campus to see the institution as his own property and do his best in the area of development of the people of Isoko nation.

Warri who threw the challenge Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the management of the Delta State University, Oleh campus, at his office in Oleh, told the provost, “Do your best for us as provost; you’re not just an Isoko man, you are from this local government. See this school as your personal property.”

The council chairman hwoever promised to look into the appeal of the provost, adding that “If there is anything we can do, we will discuss it as a team and come up with what we can do for our people. Oleh is a peaceful community; let’s encourage our students to be peaceful.” Warri stated.

Speaking earlier during the visit, the provost of the Oleh campus. Prof. Austin Atonuje, who took his time to recall how Oleh campus was established under the late Felix Ibru administration in 1992, said the campus has been in existence for decades but needs some urgent attention in infrastructure development.

“Since the creation of this institution, it has transformed, but not fast enough. There is major change in the Oleh campus. Under your tenure as chairman of our beloved local government, we want our chairman to register his presence inside the campus. We’re also looking for other illustrious sons of Isoko to help us get a few blocks inside the campus.

“My focus is to change the campus gate to her original master plan; the forest towards the Oleh Emede road is the supposed major entrance.” , Atonuje noted.
