Sen. Nwoko Conducts Healthcare Outreach for Delta North Communities

Published

on

Senator Ned Nwoko has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to accessible and quality healthcare by delivering a comprehensive medical outreach programme to communities across Delta North Senatorial District.

The latest outreach brought medical services to hundreds of residents in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area and Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area, alongside beneficiaries from surrounding communities.

The two-day medical programme featured a team of visiting doctors, nurses and other health professionals who attended to men and women, young and old, addressing a wide range of medical needs.

Beneficiaries received thorough consultations and treatment for ailments including eye and dental conditions, fever-related illnesses, hypertension and other common health challenges.

In addition to routine consultations, the outreach recorded surgical procedures and diagnostic X-ray services. The programme culminated in the distribution of free medications and eyeglasses, bringing visible relief and renewed hope to many beneficiaries.

The gesture triggered an outpouring of prayers and commendations, particularly from elderly participants who expressed deep gratitude for the Senator’s sustained intervention in grassroots healthcare delivery.

Addressing over 600 beneficiaries at the event, Senator Ned Nwoko, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, said the well-being of the people remained the cornerstone of his public service.

He reiterated that he would “continue to serve the best interests of Delta North residents, irrespective of ethnic, religious, or political affiliations.”

The Senator further noted that beyond his primary constitutional responsibility of lawmaking for the good governance of Nigeria, he places strong emphasis on social welfare and infrastructure development as essential pillars for improving the quality of life of his constituents.

Senator Nwoko recalled that during the 2023 Delta North Senatorial campaigns, he “pledged to bring tangible improvements to the healthcare sector particularly in rural communities”

Since then, he has steadily translated that promise into action.

The first phase of the medical outreach, conducted in November 2023, reached over 500 beneficiaries across Idumuje-Ugboko, Umunede, and Umusan.

The second phase, held in September 2024, expanded the impact to more than 600 beneficiaries, further consolidating the programme’s reach and effectiveness.

In addition to free medical services, Senator Nwoko has also donated medical equipment valued at millions of naira to several primary healthcare centres in Idumuje-Ugboko (Aniocha North), Agbor (Ika South), Asaba (Oshimili South), and Kwale (Ndokwa West).

The donated items included hospital beds and trolley stretchers, examination and delivery couches, nursery cots, test tube racks, syringes and stethoscopes, diagnostic kits, sterilizers as well as dissecting and dressing forceps.

The Senator also provided complementary facilities such as refrigerators, generating sets, cookers, solar lamps, fire extinguishers, benches and chairs, strengthening grassroots healthcare infrastructure.

Since his emergence at the National Assembly three years ago, Senator Ned Nwoko has continued to earn widespread commendation from constituents across Delta North (Anioma), who consistently describe his representation as impactful, people-oriented and exemplary.
