‘My Responsibility is to Work’ – Isoko North Chairman as He Inspects Council Magt Staff Residential Quarters
The chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba, has said, prioritising the welfare of council management staff was essential for effective and efficient service delivery.
Ogorugba stated this Tuesday during an inspection of the ongoing construction of three-bedroom residential apartments for council vice chairman, Secretary, and other management staff, Head of Personnel Management and the Treasurer, at the council’s residential quarters.
According to the council chairman, investing in projects that enhance productivity and improve working conditions gives him great satisfaction, as his mandate is to serve the people of Isoko North.
“My responsibility is to work for the good people of Isoko North Local Government. Having completed major projects last year, I considered it necessary to embark on this one. We cannot afford a situation where key management staff live far away from the council, as this affects their efficiency and overall service delivery.”
Ogorugba however noted that his administration is committed to giving the people a strong sense of belonging, which is why it has remained steadfast in delivering impactful projects across the local government.
The residential buildings, which will each include boys’ quarters, fencing, and landscaping, are designed to provide a comfortable and befitting environment for the occupants.
Satisfied with the quality of work done so far, Ogorugba urged the contractors to expedite work to ensure timely completion of the project and commissioning.
The Chairman was accompanied by Head of Personal Management of the Council, Mrs Irene Onwodi; Treasurer, Mrs Ofejiri Ogbogbo; HOD of Works, Patrick Achenu; Technical Adviser to the Chairman Festus Akponovo, among others.
