The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, has commenced his familiarisation tour of Area Commands within the State as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, enhance stakeholder engagement, and deepen police–community relations.

Delta Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe who disclosed this on Thursday, said that the tour commenced with a visit to the Asaba Area Command, where the Commissioner of Police was received by the Area Commander, Asaba, ACP Alex Udeze, and met with senior officers, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and personnel under the Area Command.

During the visit, he said, the CP charged officers and men to remain professional, disciplined, and proactive in the discharge of their duties, while emphasising intelligence-led policing, respect for human rights, and effective service delivery.

The Commissioner of Police also held interactive sessions with major stakeholders within the jurisdiction, including traditional rulers, community leaders, youth representatives, transport unions, and members of the business community, and called for sustained collaboration in addressing security challenges across the Asaba metropolis.

As part of the familiarisation tour, the CP further paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, where he was received by His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof) Epiphany Chibuogu Azinge, SAN, OON, and members of the traditional council. The CP appreciated the traditional institution for its continued support to the Police and assured of the Command’s commitment to partnership in promoting peace, safety, and public confidence.

The familiarisation tour is expected to continue across other Area Commands in the State, as part of the CP’s broader strategy to assess operational needs, boost morale, and reinforce community-oriented policing in Delta State.
