Delta Students Shine at Chevron Sponsored Awokoya Memorial Chemistry Competition
A student of St. Augustine College, Oghara, Omazuwa Enousakhala Samuel, has won the coveted first prize at the Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and CNL, sponsored Awokoya Memorial Chemistry Competition held at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun.
The 2025 award ceremony featured representatives of the Delta State Ministry of Education, the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), dignitaries from Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) and Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), teachers, students, and members of the press.
Jim Swartz, Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria Limited, who was represented at the event, highlighted the enduring partnership between the NNPCL/CNL Joint Venture, the Chemical Society of Nigeria, and the Delta State Government, emphasizing the competition’s role in promoting excellence in chemistry and supporting education in Delta State.

The coveted first prize was awarded to Omazuwa Enousakhala Samuel from St. Augustine College, Oghara, who distinguished himself among participants from across Delta State.
