Illegal Migration: Delta Council Boss, First State Female Comptroller of NIS Synergize

The Chairman of the Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri, and the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Delta State, Mrs. Victoria Uyoyou Agbi, over the weekend, forged a Synergy in the fight against illegal migration and human trafficking.

This came as Warri, played host to the State NIS Comptroller, who was on a courtesy and familiarization visit to the chairman’s office in Oleh, headquarters of the local government area.

Agbi, who is first indigenous and first female Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service in the state, hailed from Irri community, Isoko South and married to an Oyede man.

Speaking during the visit, Warri called for synergy between the council and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to enhance immigration services in the local government area.

The council chairman, expressed appreciation to the Comptroller for the visit and assured her of his administration’s readiness to collaborate with the Nigeria Immigration Service to address illegal migration, human trafficking, and other immigration-related issues within the council area.

He also commended the approach of the NIS boss for reaching out to her local government, assuring the Comptroller of his administration’s commitment to ensure the immigration office in Isoko South receive the necessary attention.

Speaking earlier, the State Comptroller, expressed gratitude to the council boss for his time and commended his endeavors in promoting peace and order within the council area.

Mrs. Agbi however underscored the pivotal roles local authorities play in maintaining national security and reaffirmed the Nigeria Immigration Service’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at tackling illegal migration, human trafficking, and other immigration-related issues within the council area.

She drew the council chairman’s attention to the dilapidated immigration office in Isoko South council.
