BREAKING: Coup Plot Controversy: NDDC MD, Samuel Ogbuku Fingered, Arrested
Dr Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has been allegedly fingered in the alleged coup plot against the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This is as reports claim he was allegedly arrested as MD of the federal government agency earlier reported to be involved in financing the purported failed plot to overthrow the APC-led administration.
Sources quoted by DRN within military intelligence claimed “Mr Ogbuku allegedly transferred a substantial sum of money to former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, who is suspected of financing the purported coup.
“Investigators are examining whether the funds were intended to support an attempt to remove the president from office.
“A report by Punch Newspaper quoted officials saying, “The MD transferred a huge sum of money to Sylva.
“Investigators are working on the theory that the fund transfer was connected to the coup. He is presently answering questions about what the money was meant for.”
“Reports indicate that 16 military officers were implicated in planning the overthrow of President Tinubu. SaharaReporters, citing an unnamed official, claimed, “The military authorities were just being diplomatic in the statement released by the spokesperson. They have started holding secret meetings on how to overthrow the President and other top government officials.”
“The military has not yet issued a formal statement confirming Mr Ogbuku’s arrest or detailing the full scope of the investigation. Security agencies continue to probe the alleged coup plot, aiming to uncover all individuals involved and prevent further threats to national stability”.
