‘You’re Embarrassing The Senate With Distorted Narratives’ – Akpabio To Natasha

Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been accused of distorting facts and embarrassing the Nigerian Senate.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, during plenary on Thursday, said Akpoti-Uduaghan globalised her suspension by sharing a different narrative.
The accusation comes after Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension for alleged violation of Senate rules, which she took to the United Nations Inter-parliamentary conference in New York on Tuesday.
Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged that she was being victimised by Akpabio after she accused him of sexual harassment and abuse of office.
Responding to her allegations on Thursday, Akpabio stated, “I am aware that she distorted the facts and globalised the matter, embarrassing the Senate by giving a different narrative.
“I appreciate Hon Kafilat for clarifying to the international media that what was presented was completely different from the reality.
“She brought the matter before the Senate through a petition but did not allow us to examine it. Instead, she took it to court and later to the international community.
“Actions like these could discourage politicians from appointing women into key positions.”
