Another Delta PDP Bigwig, Anwasia Dumps Party, Follows Senator Nwoko To APC

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Deputy Chairman of Oshimili South LGA, Hon. Somadina Anwasia, has resigned his membership of the party, thus joining the growing list of chieftains of the party have defected in recent times.

His resignation, which takes effect from February 3, 2025, is in solidarity with Senator Ned Nwoko’s push for the creation of Anioma State.

This latest exit is coming barely two days after Senator Ned Nwoko dumped the PDP, and it appears to be triggering a ripple effect, with stakeholders pulling out in droves.

Hon. Anwasia has been a key figure in Delta politics for nearly two decades. He joined PDP in 2007 after his long service in the Nigerian Army and has held several strategic positions within the party and government. His political journey within PDP has been marked by significant contributions:
