A Serving Assistant Inspector of Prison, Mr. Apiakise Samson who allegedly defiled a 15-year-old girl in Warri has been arrested by Police Officers from the “B” Division, just as the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, CSP Christopher Odoh rejected a #5m bribe allegedly presented to him by some unidentified persons to sweep the matter under the carpet.

The defilement incident reportedly occurred on January 21 at Obahor street that harbour’s the Prison Staff Quarters in Warri.

It was gathered that the suspect on the 21st January, at about 11pm accosted the young girl, forcefully took her into the Correctional center, beat her up, pulled of her clothes, laid her on the ground and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.

He was said to have allowed the girl go back home the following morning at about 5am.

When the girl, a JSS III Student got home, she reported the matter to her mother who had been looking for her throughout the night without success.

The angry mother of the young girl then reported the incident at the “B” Division Police station where the suspect was promptly arrested and a medical examination conducted by Dr. A. Akpofure of the Central Hospital, Warri. The report indicated penetration and blood stains.
