Published

on

Director General of Concerned Delta Youths, Activist Kelvin Ejumudo, has announced that his group would not be part of the nationwide #Endbadgovernance protest scheduled for today Thursday August 1, instead opting for constructive dialogue and roundtable negotiations.

Ejumudo stated this while addressing newsmen at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Warri Correspondent Chapel, emphasizing the need for stakeholders to engage in logical discussions, prioritizing the rights and needs of all citizens.

“We will not be part of so-called day of rage to destroy what we’ve built over the years,” Ejumudo who was flanked by other members of the group, said.

“We will be part of stakeholders for constructive dialogue, a roundtable negotiation where no one’s right is trampled upon.”

Ejumudo called on the state government to implement measures to address the ravages affecting Delta State, emphasizing the importance of good governance, equity, fairness, and accountability.

He, however called on law enforcement agency to keep up security in the state and ensure no one is attack by those who may hijack the planned protest to perpetuate crime.

“We must allow people to express themselves, to assemble peacefully, and to demand for their rights,” Ejumudo said, adding, “We will not also allow people to topple the government, but we will demand for change through constructive means.”
