Following fears that he may run away out of the country, the Federal Government has placed former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, under watchlist in a bid to ensure he does not escape from Nigeria.

A memo from the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, dated April 18, 2024, informed the DSS. NIA, Police and other relevant agencies to be on the look out for Bello should he try to escape from the country.

Yahaya Bello who is being investigated for embezzling over N80billion and another N300billion Local Government funds, escaped arrest through the help of the Kogi Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Sources revealed that, “He (Bello) is said to be now hiding inside the Kogi Government House, Lokoja, where plans are being made to help him escape the country”.
