Sad: 24-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Delta Popular Wellington Hotel’s Swimming Pool

A twenty four year old boy has reportedly died in the swimming pool of Wellington hotel (De-well) in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred on Monday March 11.

Multiple sources confirmed that the deceased went to the hotel with some of his friend to swim and have fun but came out dead.

It was gathered that the friends of the deceased were given live vest before they entered the pool except the deceased himself.

He was alleged to have drowned and died during swimming.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe in a text message sent to one of our correspondent confirmed the report.

His message reads,”Swimming pool case confirmed”.

Meanwhile, it was not clear if the hotel has some life-saving measures in place to ensure the well-being of guests but sources hinted that there was not trained lifeguards at the hotel pools to monitor the swimmers and provide assistance if needed when the incident occured.
