The long arm of the law has finally caught up with a suspected fraudster, one Samsom Ibiloma, who has been impersonating the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu.

The 52-year old suspect is said to be a member of a fraudulent syndicate, milking desperate political office seekers in Delta State of their hard earned money.

Recall that in the recent past, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori had through his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, raised alarm about the activities of con men who were the names of the SSG, the Chief of Staff and CPS to swindle office seekers, promising to give them appointment in the present government.

How the Fake SSG was nabbed

Confirming the arrest of the suspect on Tuesday, Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Bright Edafe said Ibiloma confessed to have reaped over N10 million from his desperate victims.

Edafe said the state Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, upon receiving disturbing reports on the activities of the syndicate detailed operatives of the Command’s DECOY Squad, and directed that effort be put into ensuring a meticulous investigation into the matter.

He said through technically generated intelligence, operatives “stormed Walter Odili Area by Enerhen Junction in Warri on November 1 2023, and effected the arrest of the said Samsom Ibiloma, a 52 years native of Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State who resides in Warri.

“The suspect confessed to impersonating government officials of repute and influence. He further admitted he has so far defrauded his victims over N10 million.
