Urhobo-Isoko Association In Canada Donates Flood Relief Items To Otu-Jeremi Community

The Urhobo-Isoko Association of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Sunday, April 16, 2023 donated flood assistance relief to the Otu Jeremi Community of Ughelli South Local Government area of Delta state.

Presenting the relief items on behalf of Mr Sylvester Oyibocha, President Urhobo-Isoko Association of Calgary, Alberta,Canada, the Rector Federal Polytechnic Orogun, Dr.Duke Okoro, who disclosed he was a one time president of the Association said that it is a practice by the association because they feel the people’s pains hence the donation.

Dr. Duke Okoro who presented the relief items alongside his wife, Mrs Gloria Duke Okoro, who is also a member of the association, said the project, “FLOOD ASSISTANCE RELIEF” was born by the association way back in Calgary Alberta Canada, when they heard the flood disaster that befell the people of Otu-Jeremi Community along side other communities.

He said,”As an association, we embark on this project to one Urhobo community and one Isoko community, today we are representing the interest of the Urhobo community in Otu-Jeremi community because they were highly devastated during the flood disaster.

“We are here with the following items, 5 Bags of Beans,5 Bags of Rice, 5 Bags of Garri,and 50 packs of Maggi cubes as a way to show that the pains our flood victims felt actually affected the association brothers and sisters in Calgary Alberta Canada”.

Receiving the items on behalf of the community, His Royal Majesty, Mathew Ediri Egbi (JP) the Owhawa 11, the Okobaro of Ughievwen kingdom, expressed sincere appreciation to the Urhobo-Isoko Association Calgary Alberta, Canada for the kind gesture, emphasising that it is indeed a great relief to the people of the land.

The monarch, who described the presentation as a wonderful one coming from far away Canada to his people, noted that the gesture Will be forever remembered and appreciated.

He prayed God to replenish the association as he extends his warm regards.

The royal father, however used the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Duke Okoro on his recent appointment as Rector Federal Polytechnic Orogun, Delta while thanking President Muhammadu Buhari and all those that made the appointment a reality.
