Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III after performing rites inside the sacred "Ogbowuru Hall"

Emerging information indicates that His Imperial Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri Kingdom, has reportedly sent a message to the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami, regarding ‘strengthening the fraternal relationship with the royal throne’.

Although the Aghofen (palace), according to BIGPEN NIGERIA (www.bigpenngr.com), has not yet issued an official letter of invitation as of the time this article was submitted for publication on Friday, many reliable sources have revealed that the revered paramount ruler sent for Chief Ayiri on Thursday.

However, local sources confirmed that the prestigious monarch sent a message to Chief Ayiri after performing the centuries-old customary rite at the “Ogbowuru hall” in Ode-Itsekiri (Big Warri), Warri South local government area of the state, but it was not clear if Ayiri had been officially reached.

According to a post on a popular Itsekiri page on Facebook, Uge Oyo – Ekoro, that has been trending since it was published on Thursday, the monarch prayed for harmony, advancement, and prosperity for the entire Warri Kingdom during the session.

Olu of Warri is said to have sent a message to those in attendance after the prayer session, asking them to ask Chief Ayiri to meet him at the palace.

“Earlier today, Thursday, March 30, 2023, His Imperial Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the Olu of Warri at the Traditional Headquarters of the Itsekiri Nation- ODE-ITSEKIRI) inside the sacred “Ogbowuru Hall” where he offered prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Warri Kingdom.

If the monarch and Chief Ayiri eventually meet, there will probably be reconciliation, according to reliable sources who confirmed the development.

Chief Ayiri, who is also a chieftain of the governing All Progressive Congress (APC), could not be reached on his mobile phone at the time of publication, so all attempts to get a statement from him regarding the development were futile.

Before the king was crowned, Emami and the monarch had a falling out that resulted in Emami losing his chieftaincy title.
