YPP Suspends Delta South Chair, Preye, LGA Official For Anti-party Ahead Guber Polls

The State Working Committee of Delta State chapter of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), has suspended it’s Delta South Chairman, Comrade Joseph Preye for Anti-party activities.

The party, also suspended Pastor Donald Meme from office as the Delta South Local Government Area chairman.

This was contained in a statement by state secretary of the party, Comrade Israel Uwayemi Ometan on Friday.

The statement said that Preye was suspended during an emergency State Working following his recent political activities with the People Democratic Party (PDP) that violated relevant sections of the party’s constitution.

Ometan said the suspension stemmed from the said Preye’s attempt to drag the party into an unlawful alliance with the ruling party, PDP.

Pastor Meme was also axed for working against the party standing protocols and conduct likely to cause disaffection among party faithful.

A committee has been set up to investigate the duo for alleged abuses of the privileges accorded their offices and breach of (b) and section 36.7 (a,b,,f,g and h) and Section 36.8 (f) of the constitution of the party.

While saying that the suspension was with immediate effect, the party this decision has been communicated to INEC and other relevant agencies.

“In the interim, you are both directed severally and independently to hand over files, records and properties in your possessions to the State Secretary, the statement reads.
