BREAKING: Ex-Minister, Kenneth Gbagi Dumps PDP, Bounces Back As Delta SDP Governorship Hopeful
Former Minister of State Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has finally dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) twenty-four years after being a founding member of the party in Delta state.
Gbagi who withdrew from the governorship race in Delta state few days to the primary had blamed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his actions.
Specifically, he had alleged bribing of delegates and outright hijack of the process as his reasons from dropping his ambition under the PDP.
The former Minister, who announced his withdrawal in a letter to the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, alleged that his action was informed by intimidation and threat to his life by Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
In a letter dated 21st May and acknowledged by the National chairman of the party on Monday, 23rd May, 2022, Gbagi alleged that Governor Okowa had compromised the governorship primary of the party in the State.
Gbagi, who is yet to officially announce his defection from the PDP, is likely to run under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
A source privy to the development told www.bigpenngr.com that Gbagi has since registered as member of the SDP and he is expected to participate in the governorship primary of the party tomorrow Thursday at Ughelli.
