Group Tasks Youths On Political Involvement To Move Country Forward

Progressive Alliance Group (PAG), a socio-political organisation has called on youths in the country to actively get involved in political activities to enhance economic development.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the group’s Chairman, Mr Ocheni Achile and Secretary, Mr Akin Abayomi, on Friday in Abuja.

They said the stability and growth of any nation was very much linked to the political education of the youths.

“It is therefore necessary for youths to be encouraged to find their path in the political space or help them build a capacity to create one.

“Whether we like it or not, the future belongs to the youths, especially the prepared and educated ones.

“Even the happenings surrounding the present are for their preparation to inherit the future.

“The youths should no longer afford the luxury of waiting for manners from heaven, for what the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve.

“It is therefore time for the youths to reorganise themselves, by first changing their mentality towards governance, and begin the process of aspiring to be the change Nigeria dreamed of,” they said.

The group maintained that if the youths were not satisfied with the current realities, then they should not be afraid to actively get involved in the politics of the country, in the future.

“It is high time we disabused the minds of the youths from the fat lies of yester-years which is aimed at ridiculing the aspiration and ambition of youths in governance and only commit themselves toward creating a Nigeria that we will all live to be associated with.

“The youths should show to be personality wrapped in solemn humility, sincerity, consistency and resilience. Therefore, the youths should rise and shine,” they said.
