  • PDP can not rig Delta North again – Chief Enuha

By Nnamdi Ofonye

Peter Nwaoboshi, the Senator Representing Delta North Senatorial District, has said that the people of Delta North will resist what he called ulterior motives by those who benefitted from power rotation in the state to truncate the unwritten gentleman agreement.

Senator Nwaoboshi stated this while addressing party members at a reception organized for him at his country home by a prominent leader of APC, Chief Engr Hyacinth Enuha in Ogwashi Uku, Aniocha South L.G.A on Saturday.

A statement by Nnamdi O. Ofonye, Personal/Media Assistant to Chief Engr Hyacinth Enuha, said that the Senator Nwaoboshi said that the people of the district, like their old political leaders can no longer afford to remain in opposition to the center hence his decision to pitch tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Senate Committee Chairman on NDDC, noted that his defection from the PDP was in the interest of this constituents whom he said he can no longer afford to watch suffering any form of political deprivation owing to opposition politics.

He charged the people to be ready to stand up and support Delta Central Senatorial district in their rightful quest to take over from Delta North in 2023 in line with the rotational governorship that has been in existence since 1999 stressing that those who are scheming to truncate the system are enemies of peaceful coexistence who must fail.

He charged all APC leaders and members in the zone to come together and work for the overall victory of the party in all future elections as the PDP is totally depleted and lacks the power and cohesion to win any future election in the state and Delta North in particular.

Meanwhile, earlier in his address, the host, Chief Engr Hyacinth Enuha expressed optimism that PDP will never win or retain Delta North again owing to the defection of Senator Nwaoboshi from the party.

According to the Elder statesman, the lawmaker has brought not only leadership to the senatorial zone but also vigour and winning mentality stressing that he was convinced that PDP had never won elections outside rigging in the past in the Senatorial district.

He maintained that the leadership tussle that had bedeviled the unity and progress of the party in the senatorial zone has finally been put to rest as the Senator, being the highest elected office holder in APC is now the leader of the party just as he expressed readiness to work with him harmoniously in that regard.

Chief Enuha also added his voice to the call for other leaders to shun all forms of divisive tendencies and work together for the common interest of the party which is winning the 2023 general elections and bringing the over 20 years of PDP misrule to an end.

The Acting Delta North Caretaker Committee Chairman, Prince Fred Mordi also addressed party faithfuls.
