No Assassination Attempt On Man Arrested In Connection To N115m Inflated Contract In Mercyland – Prophet Fufeyin

The General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministries (CMDM) in Warri, Delta State, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, has debunked allegations making the round that he allegedly sent armed men to ‘kidnap and eliminate’ one Chuks Onlie who was recently arrested by the police.

He spoke following a trending video in social media in which the said Olie alleged he was trailed to a church to be assassinated by persons reportedly commissioned by Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministry’s GO.

Prophet Fufeyin, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant, Prophet Sunday Okuma Iyire, said that the said Onlie who came to Mercyland in 2014 to look for manual jobs, was arrested by the police from Zone 5 Benin on Sunday after an earlier attempt to evade arrest following petition that he allegedly fraudulently inflated jobs that he handled for the church to the tune of N115 million naira.

Iyire said that every attempt made by the church’s managers to have the said Onlie to explain the discovery were rebuffed prompt the legal department of the church to petition the police at Zone 5 Benin who decided to go after him.

According to Iyire, the said Onlie was empowered by the church’s General Overseer, as he had done to many people who came to Mercyland to look for jobs, to handle some building projects but it was discovered that each of the transaction done by him were inflated and fraudulently executed.

Iyire alleged that the said Onlie, in a bid to clean up his tracks reportedly connived with the Quantity Surveyor (QS) employed by the church, one Benedict Iria and an external QS engaged to inflate the jobs sum for each building project he handled, one of which was abandoned following structural defects.

“It has come to our knowledge that one Chuks Onlie who used to handle some construction jobs for us here made some unpleasant allegations about our uncommon Prophet that the Prophet or the church is trailing him and the same time sending assassins to him and they said the video has gone went viral.

“We want to say that here we preach Christ, we talk about Jesus, we refurbished lives and we rehabilitate people and the Man of God assist and helped a lot of people.

“This man (Chuks) we are talking about came to this place in 2014 with bathroom slippers to look for job that he can handle some construction work that we were doing at that time. You know this place has been a construction site right from day one. From one building to another, we have been building. So he came that he can supervise projects on direct labour. So he was granted audience and little by little we became used to him and this is about the six years he has been here working. In the course of him working here, we discovered that he was not sincere and truthful in what he was doing.

“Nevertheless, he was working in company of somebody who was vetting his jobs, a Quantity Survey (QS) that was employed by the Church.  When we discovered that the guy was using materials that were sub-standard and that the money he was taken from the church were too much for the projects, for example he has collected over N115million naira for projects that we gave him blocks for, we now say, no this is not how it supposed to be so we now employed External Quantity Survey (EQS) to come and quantify his jobs and realise we have been beaten below belt so we decided to cry out and we sent for him.

“He came and defended himself, we also called the other young man whose video we have here who said he also quantified his jobs and claimed we are still holding him but it turned out that they were in connivance. In the course of investigation we discovered that the sitting QS in the church and the external QS were into connivance with him. They were all receiving kickbacks from him. The sitting QS has since been fired but he came back remorsefully because of this allegations and own up to his crimes and he brought evidence that they were only sharing the church money.  What they did was that a contract that was supposed to be a lesser amount, they inflate it and share the proceed”.

Recalls Chuks Onlie had raised the alarm in a video which trended on social media that he was being trailed by alleged assassins who were sent after him by the Mercyland’s General Overseer.

He claimed that if not for the youths of his church, he would have been shot dead by those who were sent after him.

But dismissing the allegation, Prophet Iyire said; “what happened was that after the  church discovered the fraud, we were not happy with the development and decided to petition him and the police went after him. The police didn’t know him in person, there was no way they could have identify him so somebody from the church went to identify him but on getting to the church where he fellowship, where the police was supposed to arrest him, the youths of that church and other members ganged up against the police and they wanted to disarmed the police so they quickly fled the scene for their dear lives abandoning a vehicle that conveyed them there. It was the church vehicle. Could we have been so foolish to use a church vehicle for an assassination mission if his claims are correct?

He disclosed that the matter was officially reported to the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 5 Benin which actually deployed men to hunt for him following a petition but he allegedly mobilised to disarmed and lynched the officers who fled the arrest scene for their dear lives.

“We officially reported this matter to Zone 5 Benin and they are the ones that arrested him and currently handling this matter. So for him to have said the church was trailing him and we wanted to kill him is a blatant lies.

“The prophet is into giving, he empower people just the way he empowered the man. He was never a contractor, he came here and he was empowered with jobs. Now, today he is saying that the church wanted to kill him, they wanted to lynch him but I can tell you categorically that there is nothing like that.

“From this church money, he got married, from this church money he bought cars and from this church money he is building a hotel and the church did not kill him all this while, the prophet didn’t look for him for assassination? Is now that he is facing a fraud case that he is raising allegations?. Perhaps the Man of God may have forgiven him but the man is formenting trouble here and there. So it is not true the Man of God is trailing him or had attempted to assassinate him, it is not true.

Iyire, however, called on members of the public to discountenance the rumour triggered by the said Onlie whom he alleged collected various sum of money from the church fraudulently amounting to N115million.

“The bone of contention is that he collected these monies mischievously and fraudulently because it was not what supposed to go for the jobs that he collected because the QS has all the evidence of how they were sharing the money

“We called on members of the public to disregard the claims being spread in the social media to tarnish the name of the Man of God”.
