Fayose Calls On Security Agencies To ‘Place Magu On Watch-list’

Former governor of Ekiti State, Peter Fayose, has called on security agencies to immediately placed Mr. Ibrahim Magu, the ‘suspended’ acting chairman of the Economic and Financial crimes Commission (EFCC) on a watch-list so that he doesn’t escape from the long arm of the law.
This comes at the backdrop of his arrest by operatives of the Department of State security (DSS) in Abuja and eventual detention in police cell.
Magu is being interrogated by a presidential panel over alleged corrupt activities
Magu’s travail followed a petition against him by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami who wrote President Muhammadu Buhari calling for his probe and sack over about 22 weighty allegations bordering on corruption.
But reacting to this, Fayose on Tuesday afternoon on his verified twitter handle, said that Magu has met his waterloo.
He said that just as Magu ordered that he should be placed on a watch list as a sitting governor protected from arrest by immunity, Magu who has no immunity deserved to be on a watch list so that he doesn’t escape from the country.
“Just as Magu directed that I be placed on “Watch-list” even when I had immunity as a sitting gov, Magu too must be placed on watch-list so that he won’t run away. EFCC, DSS, Customs, Police, Immigration, Army, Navy, Air Force, others, over to you. What goes around comes around”, the former governor tweeted.
Fayose has been a guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over N6.9 billion fraud and money laundering charges.
He had since pleaded not guilty to the charges when he was first arraigned on October 22, 2018 alongside his company, Spotless Investment Ltd, on 11 counts bordering on fraud and money laundering offences.
