Shi’ite, Police In Violent Clash, Channels TV Reporter Shot, 2 NEMA Vehicles Burnt

Several persons were injured in a violent clash between the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shi’ite, and the police on Monday.

Eyewitness said among the victims that were shot and rushed to the hospital was a journalist with Channels TV.

Bolaji Olatunde, @BOLMOJOLA who tweeted about the incident said, “If I were you I would stay away from the Central Business District, Abuja. Gunshots and what appears to be shots from an APC have been the soundtrack here within the last 30 minutes. Apparently, the Shiites have been marching. Stay safe”.

Reports say the Shi’ites members burnt down two operational vehicles belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA.
