Warri NSE Woo Young Nigerians To Choose Engineering As Career

The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Warri branch, has taken its ongoing drive to woo young Nigerians to the Engineering profession to Orerokpe Secondary School, Orerokpe, Delta State.

Vice Chairman of the branch, Engr Godwin Enibueta, who led the NSE team, harped on the importance of Engineering and asked them to choose a career in Engineering.

He stressed that “Engineering is a profession that opens doors of opportunities”, adding that “engineers take responsibility for safety of people and the environment”.

Engr Henry Agha, a Fellow of the NSE, who also spoke, pointed out that competence in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics and English should make the list of subjects that  equips one to read Engineering in higher institutions.

Also Technical Secretary of the branch, Engr. Victor Olokpa told the students: “Engineers always seek optimal solutions to societal problems, make judgement and provide explanation of their choices”.

Staff and Students expressed joy over the visit and prayed God to bless the NSE, Warri branch.

Meanwhile, the National President and Chairman-in-Council, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr Adekunle Olumuyiwa Mokuolu, FNSE, will on May 11, 2019, chair a public lecture and Fellows Fete organized by the Warri branch of the society led by Engr Benjamin Ozobome.

The event themed “Effectiveness of Engineering Management in Infrastructure/Oil and Gas Facilities” billed to hold in Wellington Hotel, Effurun-Warri at 10am, will feature a lecture titled “13% Oil and Gas Derivation: The True Perspective” to be delivered by Engr Patrick Indiamaowei.

Another lecture titled: “Maintenance Management Effectiveness Assessment for the Corporate Manager: Developing a Mathematical Model” will be discoursed by Dr Benson Evezi Okah-Avae, a Fellow of NSE.

Delta State Commissioner for Housing, Arc. Ogeh Joseph Ajirioghene will serve as Special Guest of Honour of the public lecture/Fellows Feting, which is a regular ceremony of the society.
